North Rim is a private community in Bend, Oregon. It is located on the northern face of Awbrey Butte and features 121 one-acre homesites in a ponderosa pine and juniper forest setting. North Rim offers stunning views of the Cascade Mountains and its high desert landscape is home to wildlife and native plants.
North Rim was developed by Brooks Resources Corporation starting in 2004. From the beginning, Brooks made it their mission to keep the natural setting as unspoiled as possible. This was reflected in the Design Guidelines and CC&Rs that established how the community is developed and managed. Each homesite provides an individual opportunity for interesting and diverse architecture, including outdoor living spaces, while simultaneously respecting and blending with the natural environment.
In 2016, the developer transferred control of the North Rim Homeowner’s Association (HOA) to an elected board. The board selected Fieldstone Management to provide property management services for the community. The North Rim HOA remains committed to the community’s original goals. An Architecture and Landscape Review Committee reviews design proposals and monitors construction to ensure that new homes complement the natural beauty of the North Rim environment.
The Lodge is an exclusive neighborhood amenity for North Rim owners and is host to private events, homeowner gatherings, and even a simple cup of coffee from time to time. The beauty and serenity of the Lodge provides a respite for owners and their guests alike. It truly is the heart of North Rim.
Designed by architect Thomas Hacker to reflect its natural surroundings, the Lodge showcases the architectural and landscaping standards established for the homes of North Rim. Striking exterior elements include the generous use of natural resources like stone, cedar siding, slate roof and copper gutters. Inside, warmth is created through the use of fir trusses and beams. A double-sided, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace serves as a focal point. Outside, a large patio provides an outdoor “living room.”
Next to its spectacular location above the Deschutes River, North Rim Park is a private, neighborhood park with nearly 2 acres of manicured and native grass areas designed for games, small events, picnics and family gatherings. This park is exclusively for North Rim owners and their guests. The park includes a state-of-the-art tennis court and a paver patio area perfect for evening gatherings with friends and family.
The tennis court at North Rim is arguably the most spectacular in Oregon, with beautiful landscaping and the Cascade Mountains serving as a backdrop. There is plenty of seating in the surrounding park for waiting or watching. The court is a private amenity for North Rim owners and their guests.
