The North Rim Lodge sets the tone -
a natural one, of course.
Where better to begin exploring the array of design
possibilities at North Rim than at a place that exemplifies it
all: the North Rim Lodge. Designed by architect Thomas Hacker
to reflect its natural surroundings, the Lodge showcases the
architectural and landscaping standards established for the
homes of North Rim.
Striking
exterior elements include the generous use of natural resources
like Montana Moss stone, cedar siding, slate roof and copper
gutters. Inside, natural warmth is created through the use of
fir trusses and beams and Pennsylvania Bluestone flooring
accents. You'll also find scale models of four home design
concepts, which illustrate the creative potential of the North
Rim architectural design standards.
The Lodge also features lively and colorful interior design,
permanent installations by local artist Marlene Grant and
rotating exhibits by emerging artists through the local
non-profit arts organization, Arts Central. A double-sided,
floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace serves as a focal point and
gathering place inside the Lodge. Outside, an expansive patio
serves as an outdoor "living room."
The Lodge is the heart and soul of North Rim, to be used by
homeowners for social gatherings, special events, meetings and
conferences, daily mail retrieval and drop and other
association activities. The Lodge also currently houses the
North Rim real estate branch office of Brooks Resources Realty.
